The CUT–W&RSETA Research Leadership Chair in Food Safety Culture and Sustainability is a strategic partnership between CUT and W&RSETA.
The Chair advances impact-driven research, innovation and skills development within the wholesale and retail sector, with a focus on food safety culture, sustainability, organisational development and the green economy.
Our work turns research into practical impact through industry collaboration, community engagement, capacity building and innovative learning interventions. Key initiatives include the Tshireletso Ka Thuto Food Safety Campaign, food safety culture research and industry interventions, and the development of Hi-Gene, an innovative gamified Food Safety Board Game.
Through collaboration with industry, government, communities and academia, the Chair is helping to build safer food systems, stronger food safety cultures and a more sustainable wholesale and retail sector.
